Well after trying to get various Ajax contact pages working that I was happy with I actually settled on the easiest option, a Wordpress plugin! Why I didn’t check this out to begin with I don’t really know.
Anyway the Plugin is called Intouch it’s very easy to set up and completely configurable. With instant submission using AJAX, this is a quick and clean way to get a much needed contact page into your Wordpress blog.
- Simply extract the files to your ‘wp-admin\plugins’ folder and upload.
- Activate the plugin in the normal way from the ‘Plugins’ menu of your Wordpress Dashboard.
- Go to ‘Options’ and enter in your email address and alter any other options such as adding fields or changing the confirmation messages. Click ‘Update Settings’.
- Create a ‘Contact’ page using ‘Write’ -> ‘Write Page’ or amend an existing one from ‘Manage’ -> ‘Pages’ and then click ‘edit’ on the appropriate page.
- Add the quicktag or the <!–intouch–> string to the page and save.
- Click ‘View Site’ at the top and click on your contact page to send a test email.
Enjoy!
