A few days early but I have decided to reboot! Pain, sweat and tears but finally I am happy enough to go live with this theme for Wordpress. Welcome to ‘Satin’.
I have finally upgraded to Wordpress 2.0.2 from 1.5 which was painless and I am making use of some quality plugins available such as Brians Latest Comments, FlickrRSS and The Feature. Credit to the authors and a thank you for the hard work that went into making those available.
Its pretty much CSS compliant and the Xhtml passes by the skin of its teeth, but I am pretty happy with the result. Dreamweaver and Photoshop have become very close friends (and the stuff of nightmares) but I have learnt a lot. It is tested in Firefox 1.5.0.2, Opera 8.5 and IE6 and it appears to work fine (let me know about Safari). The only bug I haven’t fixed is the ‘List Item Whitepace’ bug in IE7, as pointed out on Veerle’s blog. I shall implement the fix after the weekend for you early adopters. But….. there is bound to be others so please comment and help a burnt out coder to sort them out!
Inspired by and loosely based around ideas from some of the best designed sites around what it lacks maybe in originality I hope it makes up for in clean design.
I am giving myself the Bank Holiday weekend off, heading down to Brighton with old friends for a weekend of well deserved debauchery (well beer and clubbing anyway) so posts are a no until Monday onwards. From that point on I will be on a ‘How to’ mission with some hopefully interesting and useful posts. Delicious part II anyone?
